The path from vocational education to engineering as a path for recruiting working-class students into higher education

Last autumn, I was at a wonderful conference at Chalmers in Gothenburg, organized by the international network for Engineering, Social Justce and Peace. As a follow up of that experience, I now have an academic paper printed, based on the presentation I held at the conference, in a special issue of the The International Journal of Engineering, Social Justice, and Peace, based on contributions from the conference.
The paper is open and can be read by all here: https://ojs.library.queensu.ca/index.php/IJESJP/article/view/18297
I also have a couple of more minor contributions in the issue. I am co-author of a paper based on a workshop where I participated: https://ojs.library.queensu.ca/index.php/IJESJP/article/view/18422
And, I contributed with some short reflections on the conference, particularly the experimentation of the review process: https://ojs.library.queensu.ca/index.php/IJESJP/article/view/19533
And these reflections from myself and others also formed part of the basis of the editorial: https://ojs.library.queensu.ca/index.php/IJESJP/article/view/19531
But if you are interested in engineering, and thinking differently on engineering education, I strongly suggest you look at the entire issue: https://ojs.library.queensu.ca/index.php/IJESJP/issue/view/1056
